When disaster strikes, recovery begins with people standing together.
Cry for Nepal was created to support families and communities affected by the Rasuwa floods and landslides — providing a way for people to come together, give support, and help rebuild what has been lost.
Rasuwa Rise is our relief and recovery initiative, focused on immediate needs while supporting the longer journey toward recovery and resilience.
Because rebuilding a community takes more than resources. It takes people who care enough to help.
Rasuwa Rise moves through four stages — respond, relieve, rebuild and resilience — so that support does not stop when the immediate emergency passes.
The initiative
Cry for Nepal funds two focused relief initiatives on the ground.
Immediate relief
A hot meal, and food to take home.
We are providing cooked meals and uncooked food supplies to people in Rasuwa — a meal for those who cannot cook where they are staying, and dry rations for households able to cook for themselves.
Support the food distribution
Shelter
Somewhere safe to sleep, before the next season.
Our next project is tin sheet shelters for families left without a shelter after the floods — a dry, secure place to stay while the longer work of rebuilding begins.
